When it comes to holiday tips, there’s a lot to look out for: whether that be your need to find good accommodation on a small budget, or where to go on the streets to find the best hot dog vendors, or simply how to plan a holiday for more than two of you at a time. However, if you don’t have a destination to head to, often enough these tips can be for nothing! And there’s no better holiday for you to try this year than a water holiday. So if you’re stuck for ideas, and the usual camping isn’t something that’s interesting anyone anymore, turn away from the land to the water. Here’s some ideas for you to look into.
Hit Up Beach Destinations
So everyone likes a good beach holiday, but there’s so much more to them than simply setting down a towel, getting sand everywhere, and asking people to politely turn down their boomboxes.
Countries like Brazil and Cuba have wonderful sights for you to scope out, and there’s plenty of sand to sink your toes into compared to the amount of stones and shingle we can find back home.
Try Out Freediving
Now this isn’t for everyone, and a lot of people will never have the right amount of courage to try it out, but if you do it’ll be an amazing experience! Freediving means you get to swim alongside turtles, whales, and multiple types of fish, all existing in their own mini eco systems.
If you’re an experienced diver, this is probably the next step for you to try on for size. Leave your scuba gear on the shore and try to go it alone with just your lung capacity and love for the ocean! Head to Portofino for an incredibly easy to access free diving location, and witness the Christ of the Abyss statue, which is shallow enough for most people to dive down to. Or you can head to Nemo 33 in Belgium to give freediving a spin and see if it’s for you!
Go Sailing Alone
This is a good option for counteracting actually having to go into the water yourself. So if you’re less of a diver and more of a sailor, feel free to hire a boat for your next holiday. Sailing is something not a lot of people know how to do, but it can be an incredibly relaxing experience to try out. When you’re below deck you’ll have some great amenities on hand, and it can be a great romantic getaway for just the two of you!
Nowadays it’s very easy for you to book yacht holidays no matter your experience with one, and you can have a great time away without the hassle of hotels and other tourists around you. Simply know how to pilot a boat and you should be away!
Water holidays aren’t for everyone, but they’re a hidden gem amongst a lot of travellers. Boat along the waters with people just like you too!
